Deck builder needs help on selling over the phone?
Hi I’ve been building decks for about a year now. Now my boss has me also starting to do some sales now. I have no sales experience. He has given me a list of customers that he has already given a presentation to but have not made a decision yet. I have to call them on the phone and try and get them to commit to us and sign a contract. For each one i can get to commit i will get at least $800. Whoever can either give me the most helpful link to a website on selling decks to customers over the phone that have already had an estimate , or give me a SUPER DETAILED strategy i will western union you $100 ( continental us only of course) no joke. HELP ME!

Ok, I did telemarketing for 5 years for several different things including Verizon DSL, and several different Insurance Companies. The best advice i can give you is positive thinking. Always assume they need the product (the deck in this case) and make the customer feel that you are a “family/business man” that has a great product and make sure to always give examples on what they can do with the deck. Example:.. Mr. Jones with this new deck you can enjoy watching football games, bird watching, or playin with the grand-kids on a sturdy long lasting, and might I add beautiful deck. Along with the resale value that you get when you have a nice deck to look over your landscape. After you get them interested in what they could do on it all you gotta do is close the deal. Make it quick, don’t drag it out. But always be polite and don’t take anything personal!
